Located in the Creekside Mall in Gainesville, our facilities feature state-of-the-art equipment in a realistic, salon-like clinical setting with a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
Our vision is to train today’s students to be tomorrow’s professional Cosmetologists, Manicurists, Estheticians, and Barbers. We provide competency-based academic programs that measure the student’s acquisition of knowledge and skills rather than seat time. Our recruitment practices are ethical in nature.

Bly’s School of Cosmetology's curriculum was developed based on the statement of purpose, to adequately prepare our students to take and pass the State Board Examination, and help each student learn skills that will ultimately enhance his or her eligibility for entry-level employment.
Obtaining a license in Cosmetology, Barbering, Skin care, and Manicuring optimizes a student's professional desire, depending on his or her passion for their chosen vocation. Cosmetology
The Cosmetology Program (COS) is taught in English. The Cosmetology course includes study in Sterilization & Sanitation, Hair Cutting and Styling, Manicuring, Makeup and Facials, Hair Coloring, Permanent Waving, Scalp and Hair Treatments. Students are required to complete 300 hours before being allowed to service clients on the clinical floor. Upon graduation students are required to demonstrate live model performances and complete the required HIV/AIDS education exam.
The 1200 hour Cosmetology course prepares all graduates for the Florida State Board of Cosmetology Examination to become licensed Cosmetologist. The students are trained in the basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, good work habit, business skills, professional ethics and to take and pass the state licensing examination. Upon completion of the Cosmetology Program, the student will receive a Diploma and be prepared to obtain entry-level employment in the Cosmetology industry.
Barbering
The Barbering Program (BAR) is taught in English. The Barbering program course includes study in Sterilization and Sanitation, Hair cutting, Shaving & Mustache trim, Facials, Shampooing, Hair styling, Hair coloring, Permanent Waving, Scalp and Hair Treatments, Hair Straightening, Wigs and Hairpieces, and Toupee Cutting. Students are required to complete 300 hours before being allowed to service clients on the clinical floor. Upon graduation students are required to demonstrate live model performances and complete the required HIV/AIDS education exam.
The 1200 hour Barbering program is designed to instruct students in the field of Barbering. This program prepares students to successfully pass the state licensing examination. Upon completion of the barbering program, the student will receive a diploma and be prepared to obtain entry-level employment in the barbering industry.R
Restricted Barbering
The Restricted Barber Program (RBAR) is taught in English. The Restricted Barber program course includes study in Florida Laws & Rules, Safety, Sterilization and Sanitation, Hair Structure, Hair Cutting and Shampooing, Shaving, Beard & Mustache Trimming. Students are required to complete 150 hours before being allowed to service clients on the clinical floor. Upon graduation students are required to demonstrate live model performances and complete the required HIV/AIDS education exam.
The 600 hour Restricted Barber course prepares all graduates for the Florida State Board of Barber Examination to become licensed Restricted barbers. The students are trained in the basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, good work habit, business skills, and professional ethics as well as to take and pass the state licensing examination. Upon completion of the Restricted Barber Program, the student will receive a diploma and be prepared to obtain entry-level employment in the barbering industry.
Manicuring Specialist
The Manicuring Program (MAN) is taught in English. The Manicure program includes study in nail structure, manicuring techniques, as well as artificial nail application and nail tips. The program instructs the student in the state laws and provides the foundation and skills necessary to become a Certified Nail Technology Specialist.
The 240 hour Manicuring program teaches theory and practical skills in all phases of manicuring. This program provides the foundation and skills necessary to become a certified Manicuring Specialist. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a diploma and apply to the State of Florida for licensing to obtain entry-level employment in the manicuring industry.
Skin Care Specialist/Esthetician
The Skin Care Specialist Program (SC) is taught in English. The Skin Care Specialist course will train students in skin care, facial treatments, make-up application, and hair removal. Completion of this course prepares students to become a licensed skin care specialist.
The 260 hour Skin Care program is designed to train students in theory and the practical skills of skin care. This program prepares students with the foundation necessary to become a certified skin specialist. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a diploma and apply to the State of Florida for licensing to obtain entry-level employment in the skin care industry.
